Event Description
International Women's Day - with Nova Peris

You are invited to join us for International Women’s Day 2020, on Friday 6 March with special guest speaker, Nova Peris OAM OLY MAICD.

Nova Peris was the first Aboriginal Australian to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games. She is also one of a very few athletes who have represented their country in two different sports; hockey & athletics, and at separate Olympic Games. In 1993 Nova was elected to the Senate for the Northern Territory 2013. She retired prior to general elections 2016. Her aim is to build the foundations for a fairer society for all.

Our International Women's Day event will also announce the winners of the 'Women in Community Life' Awards which are held annually to acknowledge and to celebrate the high achievements and exceptional leadership of Geelong women.

The networking function will begin from 6:00pm with the awards ceremony starting at 6:35pm.
