Join us for an enriching experience as we celebrate International Museum Day! Together, we'll delve into the past, uncover hidden histories, and empower future generations to become the stewards of culture and tradition.


Highlights of the Day:


·        Guided Tour of Wool-Themed Galleries: Explore the fascinating connection between wool, craftsmanship, and culture. Our expert guides will take you through exhibitions that showcase the rich history of wool across different cultures. 11.30pm, 12.30pm, 2.30pm & 3.30pm (45 mins)



  • Heritage Loom Demonstration: Witness the intricate process of producing carpet on a 1910 Jacquard Axminster Loom firsthand in our live loom demonstration. Discover the artistry and skill behind this age-old technology. 11am & 2pm (15 mins)

  • Studio Activities: Drop by our studio where you'll have the chance to participate in wool, fibre, and textile crafts. Get hands-on and learn about the creative possibilities of working with natural materials.

  • New Acquisitions on the Collection Cart: Be among the first to see newly acquired pieces in our collection. Our curators will be on hand to share the stories behind these artifacts and how they help deepen our understanding of textile history.
