Hold Fast

A new dance work choreographed by Wendy Erickson. 

Holdfast is the part of the Kelp that anchors it to the sea floor in turbulent times, as well as a term used by sailors to weather a storm. The performance works within these themes as a way to embrace our creaks as we ride the waves of life. Discovering lessons of resilience from the past while giving and receiving support from people gathered around us today. 

Holdfast is a physical interpretation and collaboration with the dancers drawing on elements around and within the body, such as the history of Fishermans Flat, the ocean,environment, personal stories and physical experience.

The relationship and tension between resilience and support emerged through the creative process as an underlying theme to explore, share and learn from.
