Big Wonder Weekend: Machine Makers Lab

As part of the Big Wonder Weekend we are opening our Machine Makers Lab! Do you love making things out of cardboard and recycled bits? Come build your own planes, trains, buses, and brilliant transport machines of the future!

Artists from the Indirect Object have created a fun, renewable‑energy play space where you can cut, stick, build, and imagine new ways to move. With artists and educators on hand to help, you can turn everyday materials into something amazing.

All ages are welcome. Children must be supervised by an adult.

About the Artists:

The indirect Object are festival, event and community engagement artists creating installations, activations, roving puppets and workshops across eastern Australia. Our installation work is playful, inclusive, accessible and designed for diverse needs. We develop site-specific work on commission, collaborate with community and have a dedicated team of community volunteers who collect and source materials for us. Our workshops and community engagement programs only use recycled, rescued, and repurposed materials.
