Bats, Dark Skies & Garden Night Walk
Curious about what comes out at night in Eastern Park and the Geelong Botanic Gardens?
Join us for a night tour starting with the fly-out of the Grey-headed Flying Foxes.
Next, we head indoors to hear from Kelly Clitheroe of the Dark Skies association about why dark skies matter.
Finish the evening EXPLORING the gardens by torchlight, spotting bats, bugs and birds, with tips on night photography and using citizen science apps to share what you find.
- Please wear enclosed shoes and dress accordingly.
- This may not be an accessible event if you have mobility and/or vision issues.
- Please bring a red-light torch if you have one. There will be red-light torches for sale or red cellophane and elastic bands to cover white light torches on the night.
Meet in the carpark of the Geelong Botanic Garden Office, Eastern Park Drive (north west of Holts Road interscetion).
