Event Description
Join the Geelong Field Naturalists Club on a bird spotting adventure around Balyang Sanctuary wetland as part of Geelong Nature Week.
Have you ever spotted a White Winged Triller? How about an Australasian Darter, a Hoary Headed Grebe or a Nankeen Night Heron?
These are just some of the over 200 different bird species which have been recorded at Balyang Sanctuary. How many do you think you can spot in 20 minutes?
Come down to Balyang Sanctuary, discover the diverse wildlife thriving there and learn how you can take part in Birdlife Australia's Aussie Bird Count.
What to bring:
- binoculars (if you have them),
- sturdy walking shoes
- mosquito repellent
- long pants and
- long sleeves.
If you really want to be ahead of the game, you can also download the Aussie Bird Count app.
We can't wait to see you there!
